A Statement about our Doctrine These Doctrinal statements of our faith are purposely incomplete and are only meant to express our basic tenets...the things that drive us to do what we do. While we are Christian and will never change that stance, we also know that when we hand someone a piece of bread, they don’t ask for our doctrinal position. Shoreline Ministries has a purpose to meet human need in the pattern of Christ, a pattern where He often offended the religious institution of His day, by being in relationship with those who were the outcasts of society, in that time. He also corrected His disciples when they wanted Him to stop others who were ministering in His name, but were not a part of their fellowship.
You will find that Shoreline Ministries is willing to work with anyone who is meeting human need, regardless of religious persuasion. We do not “push” our beliefs, we freely offer our help. If you find yourself in disagreement with our Doctrinal statements, I would encourage you to redouble your efforts to meet human need, as Jesus did, on your own and don’t lose your step trying to correct us. Time is short, and while we will gladly share Jesus with any and all, we also find that representing Him often means sacrificing our egos and our need to be “right” in a perfection that only God Himself has. My Jesus meets people’s needs on a daily basis, through loving relationships that His servants develop with others. When we reach the other side and sit in glory, we will find that all of our disagreements on earth paled in comparison to the admonition of the Savior to share the good news of His love for us and His sacrifice for us, with our lives, in the pattern that He taught.
